"Radiolab believes your ears are a portal to another world. Where sound illuminates ideas, and the boundaries blur between science, philosophy, and human experience. Big questions are investigated, tinkered with, and encouraged to grow. Bring your curiosity, and we'll feed it with possibility."

We have all heard the importance of linking different subjects within the educational system. I have yet to see a program that is better able to do this than Radio Lab . This hour long radio program takes large questions that are rooted in science and explores them from a variety of different angels. The show uses humor, suspense and music to grab your attention, and then knock will knock your socks off with the facts, research and human testimony they present.

Application
Browsing through the archives of Radiolab can provide great supplemental information for numerous different subjects and lessons. For instance, a health class could use their investigations on sleep, or perhaps listen to an entire show devoted to the history of human's understanding of sperm and its role in the reproductive process. In a music class, you can listen to the episode linking music to language and hear them recall disastrous 1913 debut of Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring…through the lens of modern neurology. More than anything, radiolab can offer a fresh vantage point from which to look at many different academic subjects. In an era where television and DVD's rule I urge you to make space in your curriculum for this educational radio show.
